A seed crystal is small crystal which causes precipitation of solute / crystallization in a solvent that is supersaturated.
I hate it when people start writings with definitions or quotes, so why the hell did I just do both? It's in a vain attempt to sound erudite, I suppose, which was also the purpose of using the word erudite. What a fucking poseur.
By writing this blog, I am attempting to get a nucleation event going on in my own head. There are too many things (and when I say things, I mean I can feel them there, but I don't know what they are, so you will have to bear with the vagueness I am ascribing to them) floating free, just below the surface of consciousness. They are much like the mental version of floaters. I know they are there, but every time I look for them, they flit out of sight. Regardless, the point of this blog is to see if I can concentrate this solution enough to precipitate it into some reasonable, sensible pattern.
